    The Golden Rule

    Hello everyone!
Today is Emma's 4th birthday! I'm sad that I didn't get a chance to finish a cool month long kit like last year. (I had started one but well you all know what happened there.) We already had her party so today's highlight was that she got to bring cupcakes to school, these ones we made to look like pumpkins since the lesson theme for the next 2 weeks is Thanksgiving.

    A couple of quick reminders:
The Sophia Sarducci Shoppe is closed but you still have 5 days to grab any downloads you bought.

Action FX is offering their one day membership for $7.95, great chance to download massive amounts of CU goodies at a fabulous price!

Princess Pam is up to the letter Y in her ABC kits! If you haven't gone and looked yet you really need to see these fantastic goodies!
Jen has some awesome Whimsical Winter word art on her blog. (It's been up for a week but it's still fabulous!)
Barb has made you all a festive ornament to get you into the holiday spirit.

Now on to my post for the day. Have you ever thought about the "Golden Rule"? It's funny how just about every religion and culture on Earth has a version of this gem of wisdom. And knowing that it's the best guide I can see for a universal moral code.
(Can you tell I'm taking Ethics this session?)

    The Golden Rules

    CHRISTIANITY
"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them, for this is the law and the prophets." - Matthew 7:12

    JUDAISM
"What is harmful to you, do not to your fellow men. That is the entire Law; all the rest is commentary." - Talmud, Shabbat, 312

    HINDUISM
"This is the turn of duty; do naught unto others which could cause you pain if done to you." - Mahabharata, 5, 1517

    CONFUCIANISM
"Surely it is the maxim of loving-kindness: Do not unto other that you would not have them do unto you." - Analects, 15, 23

    TAOISM
"Regard your neighbor’s gain as your own gain and your neighbor’s loss as your own loss."
    - T’sai Shang Kan Ying P’ien

    BUDDHISM
"Hurt not others in ways you yourself would find hurtful." - Udana-Varga, 5, 18

    ZOROASTRIANISM
"That nature alone is good which refrains from doing unto another whatsoever is not good for itself." - Didistan-i-dinik, 94, 5

    ISLAM
"No one of you is a believer until he desires for his brother that which he desires for himself." – Imam An-Nawawi’s 40 Hadiths, 13
Just some food for thought as we enter this holiday season!
    Happy Scrapping everyone!

    Happy birthday to the Monkey!

As per the Golden Rule: My favorite is part of the Wiccan Reede. "...And it harm none, do as you will."
